Overview

The Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) by Motivair Corporation is more than just a way to deploy IT cooling when and where you need it. A CDU represents a forward-thinking, next-Gen IT strategy driven by the dynamic growth of a business, not limited by legacy cooling systems and infrastructure.

A CDU provides the ability to deploy higher density, load diverse IT equipment in a smaller footprint while at the same time improving a facility’s overall efficiency (PUE), and life expectancy. Simply put, a Motivair CDU allows an IT Management team to do more with less, today.

Motivair’s CDUs are designed to control and separate colder facility water supplies from the IT cooling infrastructure. This action of decoupling allows the CDU to accurately monitor and control the flow and temperature of clean, cool fluid to all types of next-generation IT cooling systems, including Active and Passive Rear Door Heat Exchangers, Liquid Cooling Systems (Direct to Chip or On Chip).

CDU’s can be installed inside the white space or in a remote location, and also can be piped from above or below based on site requirements. Available in multiple configurations for worldwide deployment.

HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING

Current and next generation HPC (High Performance Computing) servers and clusters are utilizing CPU and GPU designs that reject large amounts of heat to the computer room. Being able to affectively remove 100% of that heat has a direct impact on benchmark compute speed and overall cluster performance. Motivair's ChilledDoor® has the ability to remove up to 75kW per server rack allowing servers to perform at peak levels.

ENTERPRISE DATA CENTER

New data center designs must be able to scale with the rapid developments in computer technology and processing power while at the same time, operate at increasingly higher efficiencies over time. A data center designed with ChilledDoor® technology can scale seamlessly as IT demands increase with virtually zero change to facility infrastructure.

COLOCATION DATA CENTER

Colocation data centers by design strive to accommodate the widest range of potential customers but have traditionally struggled to accommodate medium and high density clients due to cooling restrictions. Motivair's ChilledDoor® technology can remove 100% of the server heat load with zero effect on surround racks or cages allowing for high revenue, higher density rack space sales. The ChilledDoor® Rack Cooling System can be deployed on a per rack basis in conjunction with existing infrastructure or as the primary cooling solution for an entire facility. 

LEGACY FACILITIES

Legacy facilities are struggling to adapt to rapid increases in server processing power and heat rejection. The ChilledDoor® Rack Cooling System is rack agnostic and can be applied to any new or existing server rack. More importantly, the ChilledDoor® can extend the life of a legacy data center by providing cooling directly at the rack level with virtually zero changes in white space infrastructure. A legacy data center can now be refreshed with higher density servers and a high efficiency cooling system.
